Rentapen makes modifications to their customer’s RAPid Blocks™ and RAPid Plates™. These customized tooling components save manufacturers time and money. It also keeps tooling lean by reducing the number of times these altered purchased parts are handled.
RAPid Blocks™ can be ordered with only holes in on end. In the past, customers would buy the RAPid Block™ and then have to put it in their CNC or take it to another vendor to place a hole in it to hold a locating pin or a rest pad. With Rentapen’s customized tooling components, customers are able to send a drawing of their modifications along with their RAPid Block™ order and get a quote from Rentapen for the alterations.
Rentapen uses the same CNC that makes its product line of RAPid Blocks™ and RAPid Plates™ that are used in precision jig and weld fixtures to make alterations to those parts. They also use their CNC to produce metal parts per customer drawing specifications.
Rentapen has a Haas Super Mini Mill CNC Machine. It is a vertical machining center, with a 10 tool capacity and a table size of 36”by 12”. This CNC machine is used to create Rentapen’s RAPid Tooling Components™.
Rentapen first developed RAPid Tooling Components™ in the year 2002. The product line was inspired by their customers’ need for dramatic reductions in the overall design, set-up, and operation costs of welding and other tooling fixtures. RAPid Tooling Components™ (RTC) reduce the design cost of the fixture by eliminating the need to design, detail and check similar parts over and over again.
“We keep getting more and more new customer orders for RAPid Tooling Components™. Once these manufacturers learn we can also make other low quantity metal parts for them at a competitive price they send those orders to us as well,” said Susan Straley, President of Rentapen Inc.
To provide their customers with the best price, Rentapen makes each RAPid Block™ when it is ordered. Keeping finished goods inventory costs low and passing on the savings to Rentapen’s customers.
Rentapen specializes in precision jig and weld fixtures. These tooling fixtures hold manufacturers’ product parts together while they are being manually or robotically welded or assembled together. Rentapen’s fixtures end up costing less to build because they integrate standardized purchased components wherever it makes sense to do so.
“Rentapen’s vision states, that Rentapen is the U.S. leader in machine design and tooling components. We earn our customer’s enthusiasm because we enjoy the opportunity to provide efficiency by design, expertise, and convenient service,” said Straley.
