Rentapen Inc., finishes large shim order for a customer in just four hours.
Rentapen Inc. sells hundreds of thousands of metal shims each year. Rentapen’s precision metal shims are known as RAPid Shims™ because Rentapen’s team can quote, cut, and ship shims faster than most of the competition.
On July 5th, around ten o’clock in the morning, Rentapen received an order of 500 standard RAPid Shims™ from a customer. They needed the precision metal shims to be shipped to them the same day. Rentapen’s team quickly worked together to get the order done by the end of the day, on top of the other RAPid Shim orders that also needed to be shipped out. Then the customer called Rentapen back and stated they needed 700 RAPid Shims™.
Rentapen’s team was able to ship out 350 RAPid Shims™ to the customer on Thursday on top of the other 1,410 RAPid Shims™ for other customers. They were able to send the rest of the RAPid Shims™ by Friday afternoon. The customer was very happy to receive their order of precision metal shims quickly and accurately.

Rentapen offers many different thicknesses for shims that can be used for work holding fixtures and weld fixtures.
Rentapen’s standard shims come as thin as 1/8mm, which is equivalent to .005”. But, they can cut as thin as .001 of an inch.
Rentapen offers steel shims, stainless steel shims, metal shims, NAAMS shim shapes, Die sharpening shims, Adjustment shims, custom sizes and shapes of shims, Reid Tool Supply shim shapes, and Douglas Stamping style shims.
Rentapen’s shims and shim packs are cut with their 150 watt Kern Laser that cuts up to 0.078″ steel and can run at night without an operator present. This is an important factor that reduces costs and allows Rentapen to win orders large and small for shims.
