History

RENTAPEN INC. began as Straley's Services in 1976. Founded by George Straley, the company at that time was a manual drafting machine design service.  In 1984, RENTAPEN INC. began using 2D computer aided drafting (CAD) software (ANVIL-1000MD).  We soon became experts in the software and provided sales, service and training in addition to our design services. We developed enhancement software products for the CAD program and sold them as well.  In 1997, our main customers moved to using Pro/ENGINEER and SolidWorks 3D solid modeling software in their manufacturing engineering departments. We also moved to 3D solid modeling and quickly became the experts our customers looked to for making the software affective for them. In 2003 RENTAPEN INC. introduced RAPid Tooling Components line of blocks, plates, and shims to reduce the time and costs involved in weld fixture design, setup, and maintenance.  2004 brought us to a new chapter in our existence.  We purchased a laser-cutting machine to better serve our shim customers.  The laser has allowed us to greatly expand our offerings.
